Home and Stone is a real estate investment company based in Tampa, Florida. It was created in early 2012 for the purpose of purchasing single-family houses to take advantage of:
1/ high rental yield : 7,2%/year
2/ the capital gain potential : (share’s value: +38.5% since July 2012)
The group’s strategy is to buy foreclosed houses through a unique expertise in sourcing properties without intermediaries, to repair and refurbish them and then to rent them.
2013 is a unique opportunity for investment: the market prices increased by 12% over the last twelve months, a growth encouraged and sustained by the arrival of investment funds (Colony Capital, Blackstone and Berkshire Hattaway, Warren Buffet’s fund), which purchase dozens of thousands of houses in cash in order to establish their positions.
It’s likely that 2014 is the last year during which Florida will still post significant numbers of foreclosures in relation to the 2008 crisis (the numbers have already dropped in California, Texas and Colorado), particularly since the US economy is in full recovery mode with a growth of 2.5% (> 4% in Florida) and a quickly decreasing unemployment rate in 2013.
These circumstances led Home & Stone Investments, which has already about forty properties, to open its capital in order to boost its growth and share the benefits of this historical investment opportunity with new investors.
